Install "backtrack 5r1" Linux distro

In the last post, I have discussed about how to download backtrack 5r1. After downloading, you need to make a bootable DVD/USB. Though therre are many ISO power tools, for operating systems I recommend to use unetbootin. After installing unetbootin, a window will appear like this:
Insert a USB disk to your PC.
1. In the select distribution, select backtrack and in the version select 5R1-gnome (5R1-gnome_x64 for 64 bit)
2.  Don't mark the disk image radio button.(otherwise it will download the backtreack sitribution from the net).
3. Select the ISO path from your PC in the disk image option.
4. Leave the space used to preserve files across reboots(ubuntu only) as 0.
5. Assign the drive letter path of the USB in the Drive option and then click OK.
After it finished burning the USB, it will ask you to reboot the PC.

After rebooting, set the primary boot to USB.
It will prompt you to install backtrack 5.

Select default tab and then press enter.
You can now see backtrack booting up in your PC.

It will prompt you for user name. Just type  "root" (with out quotations).
The next thing it will ask for password. By default the password is "toor"(with out quotations). While typing the password, you can't see the password is being typed. This is to ensure security. You will see a window like this after typing the password.

Type startx as shown and hit enter.

Double click on Install Backtrack.

Select languge and click forward. In the next window, select the time zone. Here comes the most important part.

Select "Install side by side, choosing between them at each startup". Allocate space to be used by backtrack and then click forward.
Don't fear..! It usually takes a long time when it comes to 99%. Wait patiently while the installation is complete.
The next time you restart your PC, you will see this:
Select the first and last options for Backtrack and windows respectively.

I hope you enjoy reading my post. If you are stuck at point, feel free to comment.

I actually do have some questions for you if you do not mind.

Is it simply me or does it look like like a few of the responses come across like they are coming from brain dead people?
:-P And, if you are posting on additional online social sites, I'd like to keep up with you. Could you post a list of every one of all your public sites like your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin profile?

  2. BT5 seems obsolete Kali took over it. Though I prefer Kali package installed on Ubuntu for extra support.
